Every girl must read this before getting MARRIED

The famous British-American violinist, Henny Youngman once said and I quote:

“The secret of a happy marriage remains a secret.”

While he is not entirely wrong in making that statement, there are a few obvious things about a happy marriage and the most important of all is carefully choosing the man, you are going to spend your life with. This is easier said than done, because there is no manual for finding the right person and nobody can tell you a guaranteed method for it. Secondly, it’s not something that you can ask someone else to do. Since everybody is different, you will have to find your Mr. Right so you can make sure that you are choosing the person with whom, you will follow your dreams. Although, it’s a different experience for everyone, there are a few steps which can be taken to ensure that the guy you are looking forward to get married is really the person you want to marry.  Here’s a few of them:

• The very first step you should take is to think about the kind of man you would want to spend your life with and then observe if your guy has those qualities or not. Think of his positive aspects, his qualities that make you happy. Think about how you feel about that man and be honest with yourself.

• The right person would support you, both emotionally and practically. Think if your man would support you in chasing your dreams and fulfilling your ambitions and also provides you with emotional comfort. He should not be insensitive to your needs.

• He should not only say that he loves you but must act like he loves you. Little things like remembering your birthday, comforting you when you are stressed, spending time with you and being patient with you have a lot of value. These things sustain the love in a marriage. He should be your friend like that.

• You should be able to communicate well with the right man. You should be able to make him understand your point of view and also understand his ideas and his emotions. Your conversation with him should not be boring and awkward. Better communication means that your feelings won’t be bottled up and so in case of disagreement, you can handle the situation better and work through the issue without getting hurt.

• The right person would help you live a balanced life. He would share your responsibilities at home and otherwise, so you won’t be the only person doing house-chores or the one always picking the kids from school.

• You should get to know the family of the person you want to marry. After marriage, his family becomes your family so if his family is not very supportive of you or just doesn’t like you then there will be problems after marriage. Give his family the respect they deserve and earn your respect in doing so. You can know a lot of things from a person’s family background as well.

• There will be a mutual feeling of trust between you and the right man. He won’t spy on you, monitor your calls or isolate you from your friends and you wouldn’t have to spy on him. He will not try to control your life but both of you will share your lives with each other in peace.

• Lastly, you should be able to do all the aforementioned things for the right man. You should be able to support him, love him, communicate with him, trust him and respect him and his family.
